Update April 2012

2012 was always going to be a busy year for us but it has been something beyond that. Our performances of "Titanic: The Southampton Story" in collaboration with The Point Youth Theatre have resulted in images of SSFC being distributed around the world. The centenary really captured the imagination; not only were our perambulation performances sold out - even the extra date was sold out in hours - but we were lucky to perform bus tour versions to American Titanic enthusiasts, tell new stories around the Hamble Valley, and entertain gorgeously dressed dinner attendees at two Titanic supper theatres. We have also undertaken character appearances dockside at the sailing of the MS Balmoral's memorial cruise, before screenings of A Night to Remember, and at receptions before special orchestral concerts. We were recorded for news stories for the BBC, Meridian, Australian and Canadian TV, among others, and performed as part of a specially commissioned BBC Documentary.

What has the rest of 2012 got in store?

We are thinking about a production this summer around Bishopstoke tentatively called 'The Reverend Bale's Morality Tale' and will be coming over all Tudor in the Autumn with a play commissioned for the Tudor Revels in Southampton. We will also be looking at the gory side of life in Tudor England at Halloween and of course there will be a traditional Christmas Ghost Walk.
